Engines from 1,000 to 2,000 shp

Safran, the world's number one in helicopter engines, is the only aeronautical engine manufacturer exclusively dedicated to this market, with the broadest range of engines from 500 to 3,000 shaft horsepower.

Safran's ambition is to be the first-choice engine manufacturer for the entire helicopter industry and sustain the growth of this market.

In the 1,000 to 2,000 shp engine market range, Safran Helicopter Engines manufactures three major engine families: the TM 333 (900 to 1,100 shp), the Arrano (1,100 to 1,300 shp) and the Ardiden (1,400 to 2,000 shp). These engines are intended for single-engine and twin-engine helicopters between 3 and 8 tonnes.

In this market range, Safran Helicopter Engines mainly works with Airbus Helicopters and has also developed very close links with other helicopter manufacturers in India (Hindustan Aeronautics Limited), China (AVIC Helicopter) and Russia (Russian Helicopters).

In the under 1,000 to 2,000 shp turboshaft engine market, the Safran Arrano 1A recently won the contract to power the Airbus Helicopters H160, the Ardiden 3G won the contract to power Russian Helicopters' Ka-62 and the Ardiden 3C won the contract to power AVIC Helicopter's AC352.
