Safran Corporate Management Appointments:
Bruno Even is named CEO of Turbomeca

Effective June 15, 2015, the following corporate management appointments take effect at Safran:
Stéphane Abrial is named Senior Executive Vice President, International and Public Affairs (member of the Executive Committee). The International and Public Affairs department will also be in charge of Group-wide programs and relations with Boeing and Airbus. Bruno Cotté and Jean-Pierre Cojan, previously Executive Vice President, European and International Relations, and Executive Vice President, Strategy and Transformation, respectively, will assist Stéphane Abrial in positions to be defined at a later date.
Pierre Fabre is named Senior Executive Vice President, R&T and Innovation (member of the Executive Committee), succeeding Eric Bachelet, who has retired. The R&T (Research & Technology) and Innovation department will be in charge of the new Safran Analytics entity.
Alex Fain is named Corporate Secretary (member of the Executive Committee). The Corporate Office is responsible for audit, legal and industrial protection-safety functions, as well as acting as secretary to the Board of Directors.
Olivier Andriès is named CEO of Snecma (member of the Executive Committee). Snecma will have operational responsibility for the companies Hispano-Suiza and Techspace Aero.
Bruno Even is named CEO of Turbomeca (member of the Executive Committee).
Jean-Paul Alary is named CEO of Aircelle (member of the Executive Committee).
Martin Sion is named CEO of Sagem (member of the Executive Committee).
Eric Dalbiès is named Executive Vice President, Strategy and M&A (Mergers & Acquisitions) (member of the Executive Committee).
Jean-Jacques Orsini is named Executive Vice President, Performance and Competitiveness (member of the Executive Committee). This new department will be in charge of Production and Purchasing, Quality and Certification, Information Technology (IT), Safran+ (continuous improvement initiative), the shared services centers and Safran Consulting.
Bruno Pasini is named Deputy Executive Vice President, Human Resources,
reporting to Jean-Luc Bérard, Executive Vice President, Human Resources.
The following persons have been confirmed in their current positions:
- Bernard Delpit: Senior Executive Vice President, Finance (member of the Executive Committee). The Finance department will be responsible for real estate.
- Anne Bouverot: CEO of Morpho (effective August 1, 2015) (member of the Executive Committee).
- Vincent Mascré: CEO of Messier-Bugatti-Dowty (member of the Executive Committee).
- Hélène Moreau-Leroy: CEO of Hispano-Suiza.
- Yves Prete: Managing Director, Techspace Aero.
- Alain Sauret: CEO of Labinal Power Systems (member of the Executive Committee).
- Philippe Schleicher: CEO of Herakles (member of the Executive Committee).
- Jean-Luc Bérard: Executive Vice President, Human Resources (member of the Executive Committee). The Human Resources department will be in charge of Safran's foundations.
- Pascale Dubois: Executive Vice President, Communications (member of the Executive Committee). Corporate Communications will be in charge of philanthropy actions.
- Marc Ventre: Advisor to Corporate Management/Chairman of Airbus Safran Launchers.
- Jean-Lin Fournereaux: Corporate Senior Vice President, Space.
- William Kurtz: Military Advisor.
- Emeric d'Arcimoles: Advisor to Corporate Management.
Biographies of the new appointees
Stéphane Abrial, 60 holds degrees from the French Air Force Academy (1975), the U.S. Air Force's Air War College (1992), the National Institute for Higher Defense Studies (IHEDN, 2000) and a Doctor of Science (HC) degree from Old Dominion University. Stéphane Abrial started his military career in 1972. Earning his wings as a fighter pilot in 1976, then as flight commander in the German air force (1981-84), he also served in a Greek air force squadron (1988), then in operations in Chad (1989), and took part in the war to free Kuwait, during Operation Desert Shield – Desert Storm (1990-91) as commander of the 5th Fighter Wing. From 1996 to 1999, he was assigned to NATO international headquarters in Brussels. He also acquired political experience during assignments with the French President's cabinet from 2000 to 2002, and as head of the Prime Minister's military office (2002- 2005).He was named Commander of Air Defense and Air Operations in 2005, then the following year General and Chief of Staff of the French air force. In 2009, Stéphane Abrial was named commander of one of NATO's two supreme commands, ACT (Allied Command Transformation), working for three years with the Alliance's 28 countries on strategic analysis, capability development, education and training. After leaving active military service in October 2012, he joined Safran on January 1, 2013 as Advisor to the Chairman and CEO. From July 1, 2013 to this latest appointment, he was Deputy Chief Executive Officer, Corporate Office.
Pierre Fabre, 61, graduated from the Sup'Aéro aeronautical engineering school in 1975. He started his career in 1976 with the engineering division of Snecma, where he held several management positions, in particular for CFM56 control systems, as CFM56 project manager and head of the control division. He was named director of CFM56 programs in 1996, then moved to Messier-Bugatti in 2000 as head of the Braking division. In 2001 he was named president of CFM International, the joint subsidiary of Snecma and GE. He returned to France in 2005, being named Chief Operating Officer of Turbomeca. In 2008 he was named Chairman and CEO of Turbomeca, then Chairman and CEO of Snecma in 2011.
Alex Fain, 60, graduated from the Ecoles des Mines engineering school in Nancy (1974). He held various positions with Renault SA, then moved to Renault Trucks & Buses, subsequently being named head of financial services at this company. He joined Safran in 1992 as Vice President, Finance and Corporate Officer at Hispano-Suiza, then at Snecma Services, where he was appointed Executive Vice President in 2002. In 2006 he was named Vice President, Finance, Strategy, Improvement Initiatives and Corporate Secretary of Snecma, then joined Morpho in 2010 as Executive Vice President. From 2012 to this latest appointment, Alex Fain was Vice President, Audit and Internal Control at Safran.
Olivier Andriès, 53, holds degrees from Ecole Polytechnique (1981) and Ecole des Mines de Paris (1984). After holding several positions in the French Ministry of Industry and the Treasury, he joined the cabinet of the Minister of Finance in 1993 as advisor on industrial affairs. In 1995 he joined the Lagardère group as Deputy Director of Strategy, in charge of various merger and acquisition projects. Olivier Andriès was named personal advisor to Jean-Luc Lagardère in 1998. He joined Airbus in 2000 as Senior Vice President, Product & Services Policy. In 2005 he was named Executive Vice President, Strategy and Cooperation, then Head of Strategy at EADS in July 2007. He joined Safran in March 2008, as Executive Vice President, Strategy and Development, then was named Executive Vice President, Defence – Security branch in September 2009. From 2011 to this latest appointment he was Chairman and CEO of Turbomeca.
Bruno Even, 47, is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique (1987) and Sup'Aéro (1992). After holding various positions with the French defense procurement agency DGA and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Bruno Even joined Group company Turbomeca in 1999. He was first engine development project manager, then project manager for deployment of the company's new management information system. In January 2006 he was named Vice President, Programs at Turbomeca, then in 2009 Executive Vice President for Operator Customers. From 2013 to this latest appointment he was CEO of Sagem.
Jean-Paul Alary, 48, graduated from the Ecole Centrale Paris engineering school (1990). He started his career in the engineering division of Snecma Moteurs, then moved to the production division. After heading a business unit at Microturbo Limited, he joined Hurel-Hispano (now Aircelle) in 2004 as CF34-8/-10 program manager, and was subsequently named head of the "future single-aisle jet" program. In April 2007 Jean-Paul Alary was named head of Aircelle's Large Nacelles division, then Vice President, Programs in May 2008. He moved to Snecma's Commercial Engine division in 2010 as head of customer support. From July 2013 until this latest appointment, Jean-Paul Alary was Executive Vice President, Safran Electronics division at Sagem.
Martin Sion, 46, graduated from the Ecole Centrale Paris engineering school in 1990. He started his career that year with the Société Européenne de Propulsion (SEP, now part of Snecma), where he held the positions of design engineer, combustion department manager, HM7 chief engineer, and head of the combustion component design department. In early 2005 he was named head of engineering for the Snecma Space Engine division, then head of improvement initiatives at Snecma in 2006. In 2009 he took over responsibility for the equipment and accessories center of excellence at Snecma's production division. He was named head of Snecma's Space Engine division in September 2010, then Chairman and CEO of Aircelle in 2013, a position he held until this latest appointment.
Eric Dalbiès, 47, holds degrees from the Ecole Polytechnique (1987) and Sup'Aéro (1992) engineering schools. He joined Société Européenne de Propulsion (SEP, now part of Snecma) in 1992, starting as system design engineer with the advanced engines department, then chief engineer for the HM7 and Vinci. In 2005 he was named head of rocket engine programs at Snecma. He moved to fellow Group company Turbomeca in 2005, as head of information technology, before being named deputy to the president and head of the Safran+ improvement initiative in 2008. He added the title of Vice President for Information Technology in 2011. From 2013 until this latest appointment, he was Safran Vice President, Strategy.
Jean-Jacques Orsini, 49, graduated from the Arts et Métiers engineering school (1988). He started his career in 1990 with Snecma's Structures Design department. After a short stint with the Production Support division 1997, he was Module Manager for the high-pressure compressor on the GE90 engine at General Electric from 1998 to 2000. After returning from Cincinnati, he took charge of the development and certification of parts under Snecma's responsibility in the new GE90-115B engine, before being named Chief Engineer for Large Turbofans (GE90, GP7000) in 2003. From 2005 to early 2009 Jean-Jacques Orsini was head of the fan & compressor design unit in Snecma's Engineering division. He was named Vice President, Quality at Snecma in 2009. At the end of 2011, Jean-Jacques Orsini moved to the Production division as head of the Woven Composite Parts Center of Excellence to drive the creation of the facilities at Rochester and Commercy, a position he held until this latest appointment.
Bruno Pasini, 47, holds a graduate degree in labor law and human resources management from the University of Paris X. He started his career in 1992 as a legal specialist in labor law and administrative director of the construction company RVM. In 1994, he moved to the Labinal group as head of human resources at Sofrance (aircraft filtration systems) then with Syléa (automotive wiring). In 1997, he was named General Manager of the Labinal plant in Saint Ouen, then head of human resources at the company Cinch (connection systems) in 2000. Two years later he moved to Pechiney, as head of labor relations in the Balc division of Pechiney Rhenalu. Bruno Pasini joined Safran in 2004 as Vice President, Human Resources at Aircelle, before being named to the same position at Snecma in June 2007. From 2011 until this latest appointment, he was President of Safran USA and head of human resources for the North America zone.
