Safran Helicopter Engines Australia was established in 1998, in Sydney, Australia and supports customers throughout the Pacific Islands (Papua New Guinea, French Polynesia), Australia and New Zealand.

Safran Helicopter Engines Australia demonstrates the corporate strategy of Proximity to support key military operators, namely the Commonwealth of Australia and the New Zealand Air Force. The site's primary activity is the MRO of the RTM322 and MTR390. As a centre of excellence for both RTM322 and MTR390, Safran Helicopter Engines Australia also supports a number of foreign militaries via CWB (Corporate Workshop Balance) acting as the Back Office for other Safran Helicopter Engines sites. In addition to helicopter activities, Safran Helicopter Engines Australia also supports the Saphir 10 APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) and ATS (Air Turbine Starter) for the Australian Hawk 127 LIF (Lead In Fighter).  Safran Helicopter Engines Australia provides deep maintenance, Front Office support and Logistic support to all Safran powered customers within the region for the following: Arriel 1 & 2 and Arrius 1 & 2. The site is managed by Stewart Noel and employs 89 people.
